Valve Adjustment

Did the first valve adjustment tonight. As with everything else I've done to this bike, it was amazingly easy. Both valves were very tight, so a minor adjustment was needed. For those of you who need some how-to tips, take a look at this discussion at SccotDawg:

The only additional tip I can give is remove the vent hose from the valve cover before removing the valve cover. It's easier.

I have a Rakatak 150cc scooter that I picked up for cheap. It's a 2006 model, and when I first got it, it ran great. It would start up, and run without issue. After riding it for about a month, I noticed that the top speed was dramatically reduced. At first, it would top out at 65 mph, the last time I rode it, it struggled to get over 50mph. Also, about 2 months into ownership, the bike started having major issues with starting. At first, I would have to kickstart it 1-5 times before it would turn over. Now, it won't start at all. The electric start won't turn it over either. I have replaced the spark plugs, and checked all fluids. I bought the bike used, and there was no documentation or anything. Right now, with my limited knowledge of small engines, I am at a loss as to how to get this thing running again. In addition, I don't know what kind of maintenance had been done with the bike before hand. If you've got any ideas, or can point me in the right direction, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.

It was very interesting for me to read that blog. Thanks for it. I like such themes and everything that is connected to them. I definitely want to read more soon.
