No News

You know the old saying: no news is good news. Three weeks since I got the scooter back on the road and no further problems. I've ridden it almost daily with no new issues. And just in case you are wondering, I'm still feeling that this scooter was a good investment.

Ack! I had sadly stopped reading when you hadn't upgraded in months. Good to see you are back :)

I'm a Vespa guy obviously and have been really angry reading stories about Chinese scooters online and word-of-mouth horror stories. You seem like a mechanically inclined guy, so I thought I'd ask your opinion after 1+ years with this 150cc machine...

Do you think that these scooters CAN be just as safe as the Japanese ones, or do you sense weak metallurgy when comparing a Chinese wheel to a Japanese or Italian (or even Taiwanese) one?

Also, it seems as if all of your problems have been related to things vibrating loose. Could the secret to a reliable Chinese scooter be spending a night on it with a torque wrench and Loctite?

The blog is great. I am seeing so many of these no-name Chinese bikes on the street in my city and I've been really curious if people are getting ripped off or if they are enjoying them. I saw someone pushing a Sunl down the road in the spring, but he still rides it. I've seen him riding recently.

I wish you luck with your scooter. I hope you're able to keep it going quite a while.
